Lambda Chapter Charters:
UMBC is a university full of ethnic diversity with a minority population of over 30 percent and rising. Seeing this, three women, Nhi Danh, Ann Pak, and Ludy Yi
sought to create an organization
that would adhere to the needs of women who wanted to make a difference.
The answer came with Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, inc.
These three women worked long and hard to create the first and only cultural
sorority on campus. Kappa Phi Lambda at UMBC
has achieved full recognition from the university
during their first semester on campus (Fall 2001) and acheived
Lambda Chapter status in Spring 2003. The sisters of the Lambda Chapter
of Kappa Phi Lambda will continue in their efforts
of upholding the KFL name with the values
of sisterhood, service and cultural diversity. Please help us in congratulating them here!
