Zeta Chapter Host the 6th Annual Convention:
The Zeta Chapter Hosted the 6th Annual Convention: SJU was founded with two incredibly strong charters, our smallest charter class as of yet, back in January 1998. Since then, the Zeta Chapter has evolved into a chapter of 35 strong and has gone from crossing the smallest class to crossing the largest class, in the Fall of 2003. The Zeta Chapter does not do things in moderation and it definitely showed this past weekend! We had the honor of hosting our annual national banquet and convention in which ALL chapters nationwide come to attend. Organizing such a large event is no easy task, and yet SJU succeeded in planning a fun filled weekend without even breaking a sweat.
Our weekend at SJU included a kick-off promotional party at Blis on Friday night, and then into a fun and yet informative convention on Saturday. SJU provided an atmosphere in which much needed workshops were given by our Central Council board members and in which sisters could mix and mingle with over one hundred and twenty-five sisters from other chapters far and wide. Workshops were conducted that addressed the current needs of the Sorority.
After an information filled morning and afternoon, sisters were all ready to get dolled up in evening dresses and find their way to the Swan Club for our annual banquet. The Swan Club provided a night-on-the-town ambience in which all the sisters were radiating. After a mingling affair, sisters and guests enjoyed a wonderful meal provided by the amazing chefs at the Swan Club. Right before dessert, Lisa Ho, an SJU Charter, presented numerous awards to each chapter. Sisters were recognized for their dedication, initiative, behind the scenes effort, and continued support after graduation. Congratulations to all the sisters who were recognized this past weekend for all your hard work and dedication.
An after party at Anju completed the evening. The club was filled with people who gathered to join in Kappa Phi Lambda's festivities. All the sisters would like to give a special thank you to Ivory and Sylvia and all of SJU who helped make this weekend such a smashing success. It's weekends like these that make us step back and say : Damn, it's good to be a Kappa!
